The ship Victor Emanuel was built in 1859 at Odders shipyard in Grimstad. Her tonnage was 400 tons net.

In 1862 the Victor Emmanuel departed from Bergen on May 1st, and arrived at Quebec June 20th, and to Montreal on June 23rd. Master was Capt. S. M. Kuhnle (224,5 Commercial lasts) Because the National Archives of Canada [NAC] did not start the archiving of passenger lists before 1865, and the Norwegian emigration records did not start before 1867, there is no surviving passenger list for this voyage in any of those archives. In 1864 she departed from Bergen on April 15th, and arrived at Quebec on May 22nd. She was carrying about 200 passengers . Master was Capt. S. M. Kuhnle and burden was 224 Commercial lasts. No surviving passenger list, see above.

In 1866 the ship Victor Emmanuel departed from Bergen May 1st, and arrived at Quebec June 7th. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 267 steerage passengers and 4 cabin passengers. There were 2 births on the voyage. She was mastered by Capt. S.M. Kuhnle, and had a crew of 17. (460 tons) The passenger list was archived by the National Archives of Canada [NAC].
