This must be the same persons, desciphering handwriting often leads to varying spelling of names.

| Thomas Jensen and Eli arrived in Napier nz. Children were mary, jack, john and Minnie. I don't know which one had Edvard (edward) who married Laura Jese Ellis. They were my great grandparents who then had Doris, Edward and Edna (my grandmother). They are of course all dead but all lived in Auckland as do my family. |

I have a Ola Madson married to S Godoy (1745-1812). Sons Mads Olsson Flateraker and Jan Olsson Flateraker who married Eli Nilsdtr Strangeland in 1806. Lived at Drivenes, Austevold. I think they are Eli Jansdtr Driveness parents???
Descendants of first son I believe is Ola Persson Flateraker (1915) would be interested in finding other relatives of this line.

Thanks heaps to those who responded to my question regarding Thomas Jensen Forland and his wife Eli. The info was great. I have managed to get in contact with a distant relative and help her while she has filled in some gaps for me

Eli Janson was daughter of Jan Olson Fladerager, Tysnes and Eli Nielsdtr. Stangeland.
Eli Jansdtr. had four brothers and five sisters, one of them was granmother to my uncle. There are many relatives in Austevoll, and if you want to have e-mail from them I'll try to find e-mailaddress. I have aslo sent you an e-mail about this family |

Niels Salomonson Stangeland b. 1766-1805 and Marthe Johannesdr. N. Vaage ca 1768-1819.
Parents of Marthe Johannesdtr N. Vaage was
Johannes Simonsen Nedre Vaage 1732-84 and Sylvi rasmusdtr. ca 1730-1819
The parents of Johannes Simonsen Nedre Vaage was:
Simon Didrichsen Nedre Vaage and tyri Halvorsdtr. Stolen-Aarland 1711-45
The parents of Tyri was
Halver Halversen Sore Aarland (Stole) and ?
As I know Eli Jansdtr. Drivenes had two sisters and one brother who was married and have a lot of relatives in Austevoll.

we were looking for information on Thomas Jensen and his wife who left Norway for New Zealand in 1872 when we found this webpage. We are distant relatives - Thomas Jensens mother (Inger Nilsdotter) is my fathers great grandfathers sister. A book giving further information on the descendants and relatives of Thomas Jensen and others have recently been released. Let us know if you require any further information. |
