Hi eibache,
Good suggestion will try if this doesn't turn up a genealogist! Must be more than one Herøy as Sore Sunnmore is different than Nordland, nicht wahr?

More options for you Jackie and some information in the waiting time for a possible genealogist. This area is beautiful, I have spend several summers in the neighbour municipality Dønna where my mother was born, a larger island connected to Herøy with a bridge.
Herøy municipality cosists of several island south-west in Nordlandcounty. Helgeland historian assosiation Helgeland historielag might be worth a try, click on "kontakt oss" and ask them.

Hi Kaarto,
Thanks for the mentions! Yes, Dønna is a lovely place!
Well, the family does have connections to Dønna as well. Andres Benjaminson's children were born at Dønna on a place called Skei. Skei was the last name family members used in America. His second wife, Maren, was from a place called Volnæs. Maybe you are the so-far missing genealogist???
Thanks again...

Jackie,
I have info on Bertina Ebbeson. She was my great grandmother and Ebbe was my great great grandfather. I'd like to talk to you about this exciting info you have.

Welcome to forum. For the project I was following I didn't pursue many in the descending generations of your ancester Bertine, but will be happy with conversation and will answer questions if you have some.
