Christian Chresby married in Australia 1890 Ida Marsh. On his Naturalisation Cert in 1893, it states he was a Mariner, born Christiana, Norway. Any assistance with this gentleman would be much appreciated.

You'd said he was born about 1839 and married Ia Marsh in Sdyney in 1893 in your other posting. Was the birth year in your first posting correct? He was about 54 years old when he married...

What year did he arrive in Australia? On his marriage records what did he record as his father and/or parents names? His death record list parents names? Did he ever use a different last name?
At the time of the 1865 Norwegian census NO ONE is recorded using a surname like 'Chresby'.

Hi,
The surnames changes, very often, when arriving at the new country.
I found this one in Oslo (Christiania) in 1865. His first name is Christian. Could he be the one?

Oops,
Something has happened to the link I sent you. Go to the very end of the first link, choose english. Go to database selector and then 1865. Ask for surnames starting on Kr. You will find a long list of surnames, Kraby and Kraasbye are two of the surnames. Choose them and you will se that one of them is named Christian.
Good luck
Ellen

On the Naturalization papers of Christian Chresby 1893 for Australia, it shows, age as being 54 & resident of Colony for 26 years, occupation Mariner. Born, Christiana, Norway.
That makes him 56 when fifth child born, Ivy, in 1895 in Australia. Trying to find Christian Kraasbye.

Likely a shot in the dark.
Could his lastname be Krosby, named after a farm in Aremark. There are also Krosby farms in Eidsberg, Rakkestad and Rødnes in Østfold county.

This Christian Krosby´s date of birth don´t correspond.
LDS records has Christian Krosby born about 1861 (not found) in Aremark in Østfold county. Parents: Ole Jensen Krosby and Anne Johanne Hansdatter, they married in Aremark April 23. 1860.

Looks like the Krosby farm in Aremark, Østfold could be a good possibility.

Brynild Olsen & Kari Kirstine Hansdr on the Krosby farm in Aremark, Østfold are registered with the following children on LDS:

Maren Sophie Brynildsdr , chr 22 AUG 1847 Aremark, Østfold
Ole Christian Brynildsen , chr 14 OCT 1848 Aremark, Østfold
Thea Amalie Brynildsdr , chr 26 MAY 1850 Aremark, Østfold
Karoline Brynildsdr , chr 21 MAR 1852 Aremark, Østfold
Anne Christine Brynildsdr, chr 13 APR 1854 Aremark, Østfold
Svend Brynildsen , chr 15 JUN 1856 Aremark, Østfold
Andreas Brynildsen , chr 15 JUN 1856 Aremark, Østfold
Johanne Alette Brynildsdr, chr 04 JUL 1858 Aremark, Østfold

Ole B. Kraasby from Ødemark emigrates together with wife Elen to Morhead, Minnesota on 19 MAY 1882. He is most likely the same as Ole Christian Brynildsen, born 1848.
Brynild Olsen's parents are most likely Ole Brynildsen & Sidsel Aslaksdr.

But how does Christian Chresby fit into this picture...?
Brynild (b. 1822) is a bit too young to have a son named Christian born ca 1839, and doesn't look to have a brother named Christian either...

Looks like back to square one. On checking LDS records 4children of Ole Jansen Krosby shown born 1861. On checking further born from 1894 to 1903 with Kristian born 1900, which puts him out of the time frame. Its a puzzle
