I am trying to find info one of my great grandfathers I am not really sure what great grandfather he would be I think this is just more along the lines of confirming as I am not to sure if these dates are even correct :s or not for his line as well he was b. 1675 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway
d. 1743 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway
the other surnames he was known by was Ellingbø, Berge, Turtnes,and Kattevøl
he was married to Gjertrud Trondsdatter Kattevøl b 1688 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway
d. May 31 1745 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway
his parents
Ivar Torsteinsen Kattevøl born 1642 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway died 1725 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway
Ingrid Knudsdatter I dont know when she was born but she died 1699 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway
Endre and Gjertrud had 9 children
Marit Endresdatter Kattevøl she was born 1730 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway died 1786 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway
her husband was Trond Simonsen Kjøs b. 1725 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway.d. 1751 Vang, Oppland Co., Valdres region, Norway.

their daughter was Marit Endresdatter Tveit I m not sure when she was born but she was born in Leine III Vang Oppland
she was married to Helge Nilssen Septon born Remme,Vang,Oppland,Norway
they had 8 children

One Endre Nielsen was engaged to Jertru Enersdatter Nov 13 1768, see right hand page here
This Jertru Enersdatter (or Gjertrud Einarsdatter) was probably not the daughter of Marit Endresdatter b.1730 (not recorded in Vang parish records for 1730) and Trond Simonsen b.1725 - if she was she would have been Marit Trondsdatter.
Endre i Lien (Nielsen?) and Jerthru Enersdatter baptized a daughter Marit March 20 1779, see left hand page
In 1801 Marit was 22 years old and not married.

Firstly there was no Roland Rolandsen in Vang, Oppland in 1865.
If his wife was the mother of Lars Rolandsen b. 1836 at Rennesøy Rogaland, how come she died 1840 in Vang Oppland?

Your 3rd great grandfather Lars Rolandsen was baptized Dec 18 1836, see #673
his parents Roland Rolandsen and Inger Johnsdatter were married April 9 1833, see #246
Inger Johnsdatter was baptized Ingegjær Jan 23 1803, see under Graven on right hand page. Her parents were John Olsen and Ingeborg Sjursdatter on the Kjærland farm.

thanks eibache the record that I have states that Roland Rolandsen Nordland was born 1803 in Nordland 57/2, Nordigarden, Vang i Valdres, Oppland Fylke, Norway
Inger Jonsdatter was born 1803 in Kjaerland Granvin d.27.4 1840 I dunno why she died so young but it shall be interesting to find out
this is the info that was sent to me from the digital archives they enclosed Rennesoy gard og aett band 3
that marit is a different person the marit I have Marit Endresdatter Tveit I see now that she was born 1630 Tveit she died before 1713 Marit married Helge Nilsson LIEN about 1660 |

thanks eibache I have this info :) it is in another topic for John R Kloster but it was suggested that I started a new topic as I was requesting another individual and that it was for Vang Norway that I would have to research

Yes, a Roland was baptized Aug 7 1803 in Vang, see second from top left hand page, his parents were Roland Larsen Nordland and Ingebor Johannesdatter.
The death record for Roland Rolandsen, blacksmith and cottar is here
it states that he was born in Vang. It says that he was married, but does not indicate that he was a widower.
Ingeborg Johnsdatter died in Rennesøy Rogaland during childbirth, see #10 the child was not born.

Roland Rolandsens father Roland Larsen was baptized June 19 1768, see #5 from bottom left hand page, his parents Lars Rolandsen and Marit Joensdatter.
Question - How can this be explained: A Roland Nordland baptized Thor on Dec 16 1761 see fifth from top, left hand page - his wife Marit Nielsdatter was introduced Jan 17 1762, see top of right hand page |

Roland Larsens parents:
Lars Rolandsen (baptized Aug 27 1731 - not found in Vang) Vang, Oppland
married April 1 1767 to, Marit Joensdatter Vang, Oppland
Lars Rolandsens parents: (according to LDS record)
Roland Larsen and Marthe Nilsdatter - not found in parish records.
The ancestry you have described above this could not be right - you start out with Marit Endresdatter born 1730! |
