My Greatgrandfather was born in Norway. He was an Anderson in Norway. When he moved to America he changed his name to Stromsness. I lost him in the changing of names in Norway. Would you have any information on him before he came to America. The information you have given me in the past has been very helpful. I have found additional information at the other sites you have given me. Thank you very much. This is a long process I have found. Been working over 3 yrs. Again thank you for the information

Hi

Anderson (Andersen) is probably your greatgrandfather's surname (or patronymic) in Norway and he probably came from a farm by the name Strømsness or variations of this name (Strømsnæs, Strømsnesset, -næsset). There are several possible in the 1900 census. I would guess he was born around 1870/80?

It would help us to find him if you told us his given name and what you know about his date of birth.
