I am looking for info on the passage of Laage or Lage Loken born 1866 Gran Hadeland Norway. Arrived US 1885. Married Marie Huser 1890 in Wooebury, Iowa US. She is also from Gran Hadeland but arrived separate and possibly the same age. Info on Ancestry.com indicates arrival in Philly for Lage Leonard Loken

great grand daughter of the Hanson (Hansen) and Loken families of Western Wisconsin

Lage Eriksen of the Løken farm, Jevnaker, Oppland is listed in local parish records as leaving that parish 27 April 1885. That listing puts his birthyear as 1865, lists him as unmarried and his intended destination is "Amerika".

Lage appears in the 1865 Norwegian census with his mother and father living on the Løken farm with others who may well be aunts, uncles and paternal grandfather.

In 1900 US census Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa the family is enumerated with head of household listed as "Lenard Logan" b. Aug 1865 Norway.

This man must have a long list of names collected in America -- much like my great great uncle Tjerand.... Americans never could get it right.
