This link should take you to the "old" opening page of the Norwegian Digitalarkivet. On the bar across the top are Years and then search all database, scanned registers, etc. If you click on "English" the general information appears in English. If you click on the year 1801, it will bring up a clickable link to search the 1801 census. You should be able to find all the folks you mentioned who would have been alive in 1801.

Good Luck!

I believe John Warme should have been read Jahn Warme. In the marriage record it says he came from Ulefoss and he is in the 1801 census here http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/WebCens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=6&filnamn=f1801&gardpostnr=20627&personpostnr=313260&merk=313260#ovre.

Jan Varmes wife came from Stubberød, her parents are here http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/WebCens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=16&filnamn=f1801&gardpostnr=22271&personpostnr=336433&merk=336433#ovre.
and she is here http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/WebCens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=7&filnamn=f1801&gardpostnr=23375&personpostnr=346546&merk=346546#ovre.

Anne Cathrine was baptized April 29 1772, see last record in 3rd column, Kildeinformasjon: Vestfold fylke, Hedrum, Ministerialbok nr. 1 (1751-1785), Kronologisk liste 1772, side 105.

I think this may be a different Warme, as I find a different birth place for him (Sande, Vestfold), and no record of him being married to Anne (Regina) Catharine Paulsdatter Rosenberg. (unless he was actually married twice).

I looked at the birth/baptism record for Jan Warme and Stine Andersdatters first child who was baptized Andreas (check the 1801 census). The birth/baptism record shows that this Jan Warme is the same as Jan Jonsen.

Question: Was your Jan Warme born in Sande Vestfold and where does that info come from?

Also, the Regina Cathrin Rosenberg I first referred to as Jan Warmes wife was wrong, she was the sister of his wife Anne Cathrine Rosenberg.

Hi,

You could look for the name Jan and Anne Catharine give to their first girl or first child after their marriage. Sometimes the first spouse is remembered in the name given to that child.
