Thanks for all the help with James Christian Larsen. I would love some help on his wife. I do not know her maiden name. I know that she was born in July of 1862, she came to the US in 1880 or 1881, and married James in 1882. The first real documentation I have of her is from the 1890 census in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Thanks for the help

Microscopic possibilities to find the right Anna when info on background is so limited. More searching related to marriage, children, etc is needed.

This Annie Caroline Moe is yours?

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FD81-V6X

There are 19 other Moe marriages in Hennepin County, Minnesota between 1880-1890 in that same database.

The names of James' and Anna's children and dates, etc as well as married names might be helpful.

It might be helpful is you can outline where you have looked for her. For instance, there is a James Christian and Anna Larson alive in 1930 living in New York--are they yours?

And here they are in 1885:

Likely the same family living in Madison Wisconsin in 1910. This record gives the immigration year for Anna as 1882? Birth year of 1873 is clearly off by 10 years.

Ellen, this is a long shot but assuming that the marriage found by Jackie is correct and her name was Anna Moe, and that she may have emmigrated in 1882 and was married the same year, it is likely she knew her husband before they were married. An Anna Moe emmigrated in 1882 from Trondheim and was going to Minneapolis and is about the correct age.

Well, in spite of the spelling, I think that this is Anna Moe arriving in America. I found the Peter Peters. family on the page before this name and Kristine Halseth as the name just after Anna. If you have an Ancestry.com subscription you can look at the original for yourself. Unfortunately no new data was on the manifest that I could find.

Anna Caroline Andreasdatter's brother Ole Ludvig Moe (born 08 Jun 1868), emigrated to New York with his family on the ship Stavangerfjord on 15 Nov 1920.

Ole Ludvig Moe, cooper, born 1868

Erling Moe, son, cooper, born 1908

They arrived Ellis Island on Nov 30, 1920. Final destination was their son Leif Moe in 119 Jeffery Str., Chester, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania.

Leif Andreas Moe emigrated to Philadelphia, PA on 28 AUG 1916. Destination was sister Borghild Moe.
Leif was home for a visit in 1920, returning on 12 MAY 1920. Probably to get his family...

Borghild Moe emigrated to Philadelphia, PA on 26 AUG 1913.
Her destination was uncle Jens Johansen in Chester.

Here is Ole Ludwig Moe's headstone at www.findagrave.com:

This should take you to the obituary of Julia Moe:

I searched for Ole Ludwig Moe, found no obit but did see a card of thanks published on 12 Oct 1948.
