Searching for information about the grounding of the Wilson Line vessel S/S Tasso 1 that after records on this site grounded March 15th 1886.

The vessel left Trondheim the 11th and then Ålesund the 12th.

http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_ship.asp?sh=tasso

Did the vessel sail to Bergen-Stavanger after Ålesund, or did it sail directly to Hull from Ålesund?

I´m trying to find records from the brother of my great-great-grandfather that joined the vessel in Ålesund this date according to the list.

http://forum.arkivverket.no/topic/179179-soeker-info-om-en-emigrering-fra-sandoey-i-1886/

Bought ticket with Allan Line, wich indicates that he would have have connection with the vessel SS Parisian in Liverpool. Have not found his anme in the passenger list so far.

Have have not found very little information after Ålesund at all, but I have until now calculated with that he sailed directly to Hull from Ålesund. If the fact was that he was on the vessel when it grounded, things changes quit a lot.

Which vessel took the passengers after this?
Where they split up on several vessels?
Are there any records of this to found?

Anyone that can help me with solving the questions on this issue?

Have been studying the departure dates here more thoroughly.

Trondheim March 11th Thursday
Kristiansund March 11th Thursday
Ålesund March 12th Friday

According to the links above the vessel should have sailed directly from Ålesund to Hull. A distance of ab. 570 nm. With 14 knots speed that will give us 40 hours sailing.
Vessel would then have made port of call in Hull sometime Sunday 14th, if in schedule.

At the same time it stats that the where a separate route from Bergen, calling port in Stavanger before sailing to Hull (not coming from Ålesund)
The same vessel is noted to sail from Bergen March 13th.

This does not match up very well with the fact that it could not have been in Bergen for departure that date if the vessel sailed directly from Ålesund to Hull.

In NH website it states that the vessel grounded 15th.
This website states the 14th.

It seems for me that the route must have been from Ålesund including Bergen and Stavanger before crossing the North Sea.

The S/S Tasso did sail via Bergen on that trip. She departed Bergen on March 13th at 7 o'clock in the evening. Just after midnight (correctly as stated above on the 14th) she struck a rock (some sources says on the "Blokso", the same rock on which Sleipner struck in 1999 with the loss of 16 lives) and was stuck. Capt. Cahmbers ordered evacuation of the passengers from the ship to the rock. While they were evacuating the passengers the ship floated off and Capt. Chambers stranded the ship on a small island called "Haasskru" (Håskru) near "Lyngholmen" (on modern maps it also says "Tassoboen" near by) to save it from sinking. The passengers who were left on the rock was taken to Lyngholmen in the lifeboats. The S/S Domino (Capt Tholander) which had departed Hull for Bergen on Thursday 11th arrived at the scene at 9 o'clock and brought all the passengers back to Bergen.

Thank you very much

So all passengers where brought back to Bergen.
do you know if there exist any record of which vessel was used to transport the passengers from Bergen to Hull again?

I have been using the emigration records from Digitalarkivet for Bergen, but can not find any record of this there.

The passengers from the wrecked S/S Tasso departed Bergen on the S/S Domino on March 20th and arrived Hull in the afternoon on March 23rd.

Thank you Borge

That gives me more to work with in my search for Ole Thomas Antonsen Sandø. Have really been struggling to find any tracks after this person since he left Ålesund. Will try to work my way from this dates as he had bought tickets from Allan Line.
Hopefully all passengers continued the journey at the date you mentioned here.
