The S/S Ausonia (1) was built in 1909 by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson in Newcastle as the "Tortona" for the Thompson Line. Purchased by Cunard Line in 1911, and renamed "Ausonia". Torpedoed and lost in May 1918.
