When the Frigate Bird sailed in 1871 she was rigged as a ship. Later the she was rigged as a bark. Tonnage (in 1880) was 566 Norwegian Int. tons. In 1871 she departed from Bergen Apr. 23, and arrived at Quebec May 31. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 15 cabin and 303 steerage passengers. There was one death on the voyage and 11 were sick with measles when the ship arrived to the quarantine station at Grosse Īle. She was discharged from quarantine on June 4. Master was captain Van der Lippe with a crew of 15. |
