As can be seen from the picture, this ship had a clipper stem, one funnel, and three masts rigged for sail. She was an iron construction with a single screw and a speed of 10 knots. There was accommodation for 100 first class passengers and 750 steerage passengers. In 1866 she made a trooping voyage between Liverpool - Malta - Quebec - Liverpool. In 1872 she was rebuilt to 4 276 tons and lengthened to 391.6 feet as on the picture. She resumed Liverpool - Queenstown - New York sailings on April 24th 1872, and commenced her last voyage on this service on September 15th 1874. On November 8th 1874 she started London - New York voyages and commenced her last London - New York sailing on December 17th 1893. She was scrapped the following year.
