In 1853 the ship Canada departed from Kragerø with about 200 emigrants on June 10th. She called at Christiansand to take on more passengers before proceeding to Quebec. According to the newspaper notice she was just built, and was owned by merchant Larsen of Kragerø. Because the National Archives of Canada [NAC] did not start the archiving of passenger lists before 1865, and the Norwegian emigration records did not start before 1867, there is no surviving passenger list for this voyage in any of those archives.
