The bark Chapman was built in Sweden 1856, at Fredell's shipyard. Her tonnage was 208 Norwegian 
Comercial lasts. She was 136 feet of length  x 27ft. beam and 16 ft. depth. She was owned by  J. C. Hansen in Tønsberg. In 1867 she departed from Christiania July 6 and arrived to Quebec July 25. She was  mastered by Capt. L. M. Bjønnes. The agents were Blichfeldt, Knoph & Co. in Christiania. See announcement below. |  Newspaper announcement from "Hamar Stiftstidende" June 7, 1867
