The ship Hercules departed from Stavanger May 3rd, and arrived at Quebec June 7th. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 261 steerage passengers and 4 cabin passengers. There are two deaths recorded, the 4 years old girl Walgierd, the daughter of Lars Knudsen Klungland died on 12th May, and a 9 months old girl, Torborg, the daughter Lars Nilsen Fagervik on the 2nd of June. The two children died of cold and debility. There is also a note about Marie, the 19 year old daughter of Johannes Olsen Høinds, becoming sick with typhus, and leaving the ship before it departed Stavanger. The Hercules was mastered by Captain I. Neilsen, and had a crew of 19. Her tonnage was 597 tons. The passenger list was archived by the National Archives of Canada [NAC].
