In 1863 the bark Kong Sverre departed from Christiania on April 20th, and arrived at Quebec on July 3rd. She was mastered by Capt A. V. Walløe. According to the newspaper announcements she was a newly built ship in 1863. Her burden was 140 Norwegian Commercial lasts. Because the National Archives of Canada [NAC] did not start the archiving of passenger lists before 1865, and the Norwegian emigration records did not start before 1867, there is no surviving passenger list for this voyage in any of those archives.

| Morgenbladet January 2nd, 1863: Passenger accommodation to Quebec. The new, 1st classed ship "Kong Sverre", 140 Commercial lasts, will depart from Christiania in the middle of April 1863 with passengers if a sufficient number signs on. The ship has a 6½ feet high between deck, and will naturally be a good sailor. Enrolling and further information is provided at T. C. Kloed, ship broker, Christiania. |
