In 1866 the bark Leif departed from Bergen on June 1st, and arrived at Quebec July 7th. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 219 steerage passengers and 11 cabin passengers. 3 children were born on the voyage, 1 stillborn. The births: child of Thorsten Knudsen Olmstad (35) and Randi (32), twins - one stillborn,
children of Knud Pedersen Braaten (21) and Marit Gulbrandsdatter Olmstad (24). The passengers
traveling in cabin was the Norwegian Consul for Wisconsin - O.E. Dreuher (50) and his family:
wife Nelli (42), daughter Harriet (19), son Carl (15), son Gustav (12), son Axel (10), son Yngve
(7), daughter Jenny (4), daughter Jessy (2), son Abraham Lincoln 6 months, and girl, Elen
Haldersdatter (40). The Leif was mastered by Capt. T. Larsen and had a crew of 15. The passenger list was archived by the National Archives of Canada [NAC].
