The Lyna was a (full rigged)
ship, her burden was 150 Norwegian
Commercial lasts. She was owned by J. A. Rømke and others, and was flying flag: F1 No. 44.
In 1849 the Lyna departed from Drammen on June 8th, and arrived at New York on Aug. 14th. She was mastered by Capt. Bernhard C. Mørch. Emigrants could sign up for the voyage at J. M. Rømcke in Drammen and at R. Wigersund's store in Modum. The passenger list is archived by NARA, and is filmed; Roll # 82, arr. no. 1113. The passenger list is hard to read, as it is written in a very difficult handwriting.
In 1850 the Lyna departed from Drammen in the beginning of June, calling at Falmouth on June 27th, and departed from there for Quebec on July 5th. She arrived at Quebec on September 4th. Because the National Archives of Canada [NAC] did not start the archiving of passenger lists before 1865, and the Norwegian emigration records did not start before 1867, there is no surviving passenger list for this voyage in any of those archives.
Timeline to records.
The Lyna was also announced to sail with emigrants in 1851 and 1852, but so far we have not been able to confirm any departures from Norway any of those years. I seams like she was rebuilt and sailed with emigrants from Ireland to New York in 1851
