In 1873 the ship Nordhavet departed from Skein on April the 6th, and arrived at Quebec May 26th. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying four cabin and 175 steerage passengers. She was inspected at the quarantine station at Grosse Île on May 24th. All well. She was mastered by Captain C. Myhre and had a crew of 17 crew. Her tonnage was 281½ Norwegian Commercial lasts, 583 tons.
