The Randsfjord (ex. Kongsfos) was built in 1914 by R. Thompson & Sons Ltd. in Sunderland. Her details were: Tonnage: 3,259 tons gross, 2,998 under deck and 2,019 net. Dimensions: Poop 27 tons; House on deck 116 tons; Forecastle 58 tons. Propulsion: triple expansion engine with 3 cylinders of 24, 39 & 55 inches diameter respectively; stroke 42 inches; 301 nominal horsepower; engine built by North East Marine Engine Co. Ltd. in Sunderland. She was a steel construction with a single screw and 1 deck, 2nd deck in No. 1 & 4 holds.Fitted with electric light and wireless. Water ballast and flat keel.
