The Refondo was built 1857 in Altona, Slesvig-Holstein. Burden was 481 Norwegian Commercial lasts. Owner was G. C. Hansen in Tønsberg. Refondo sailed from Christiania to Quebec with emigrants in 1867 and 1868, mastered by Capt. Harris. The agent was Blichfeldt, Knoph & Co in Christiania.

Ann Dockwell's grandfather and grandmother came to Quebec on the Refondo. The account was written by one of Ann's relatives who was also on the ship. It is interesting and tells about many people dying on the voyage.
