Commercial lasts. Captain and shipowner was P. von Ahnen Nygaard of Tønsberg.
In 1861 the Victoroa departed from Drammen and Tønsberg, and arrived at Quebec July 5th. She was carrying 361 steerage passengers. Mastered was Capt. Nygaard. Because the National Archives of Canada [NAC] did not start the archiving of passenger lists before 1865, and the Norwegian emigration records did not start before 1867, there is no surviving passenger list for this voyage in any of those archives. The story was told by Guri Thorsdatter Trøo Jeglum, wife of Kittel Jeglum, who lived in the town of Perry, Dane County, Wisconsin. Much of the interview was done by her niece, Gena Thompson.
