I was looking for children of Astrid and found what I think is a child for her sister! dumb luck!

Can someone help me with the translation? Boy named Reidar - father is Alf ? Tinsen or Finsen? I can not make out what is says in the godparents column - but it does not look like names? What is in the last column? Hopefully some good clues buried in here!

thank you.

Reidar born Oct 28 1919 was baptized at home Oct 29 but died before this could be confirmed in church. The father was Alf Finsen, a silver worker (not quite silver smith I assume) and the mother was Aagot Bergljot nče Johansen.
The child was born and baptized at Kristiania maternity home. No godparents named.

(#49) - They had a civil marriage 1912 since Aagot Bergliot had withdrawn from the state church. She later joined the church again.

(#10) - Rolf died before baptism was confirmed in church. Baptism at home performed by Miss Margrethe Johnsen, Aagots mother Julie Johansen was a witness. 2 earlier children still alive.

The stillborn baby was a boy. Written statement to the church was given by the midwife Margrethe Johnsen.

thank you for all the translation help!

Good to prove Aagot's mother was still alive at this time.

Interesting - I have not seen a civil marriage before. I can not locate the record for the marriage or a birth record for the other child that would have still been alive. Maybe they happened in a different parish?

The secular marriages have their own register:

Thank you. I did not know to look for these! Is there anything of interest in the text of this document about either of the families. I see the names but unfortunately can't make out much more.

It seems the family stayed in Johannes Parish. Did Johannes Parish merge with Oslo Domkirke parish? I lose the records about 1930?

Alf Findsen was a goldsmith, he was born at Hole Sept 11 1891, his parents were shoemaker Arthur Findsen and Marie Andersdatter, he belonged to the state church. Aagot Bergliot Johansen, born Sept 21 1888 in Kristiania, parents typographer Frithj. Johansen and Julie Antonette. She had attestation from the priest in Johannes parish that she no longer belonged to the state church.
The married couple intended to live in Deichmansgate 4.
One of the witnesses was baker Finn Alexander Findsen (Alf's brother?)

Parish records more recient than 1930 not available on internet due to protective legislations.

Thank you for the translation.

I am still looking for the children who were alive when Rolf died. I have found Arne but don't see to find the other one. Possibly this address they intended to live at after they were married is not in Johannes Parish? How would you figure out what Parish this address is in?

Thanks

Thank you so much for all that information. If I had only put all the pieces together a few years ago I might have been able to find out information from Mary....! Hopefully she had children and I will find them!

I do appreciate everyones help in building this branch of my family tree.
