Is there a way of finding the names of the daughter who emigrated to America and when/how and also two sons to England? We know of only one, Helge August Olsen Myhre as mentioned above.

Here for completeness are the names of the severn children of Ole Hansen Myhre

Children of Ole Hansen Myhre

Hans Bernt Feb 8, 1817 bap June 24, 1817

died in Stavanger March 31, 1863

Erik June 5, 1819 bap Oct 16, 1819

Carl Johan July 21, 1821 bap Nov 18, 1821

Olava Charlotte May 16, 1826 bap Sep 3, 1826]

Kristian Henrik Nov 3, 1828 bap Jan 4, 1829

Josefa Bernhardine Nov 3, 1828 bap Jan 4, 1829

Died in Stavanger Dec 22, 1891

Helge August Oct 4, 1831 bap May 12, 1833

Since there are only two girls in the list, and we know Josefa Bernhardine lived and died in Norway, if there was a daughter who eimgrated to America it would have to be Olava Charlotte.

Thank you. None of our family have ever been aware of Erik or Carl, or Kristian's second christian name. That is amazing news. May I ask where you got those names from and how do we verify them? Very exciting.

The next task is to find out when and how and where to Olava travelled to the US. I believe I have located her husband's name and a child so I will re-check that information and share it.

The other son travelling to the UK is a mystery. Helge is confirmed as living in London, yet to confirm the date or ship he travelled on. Difficult to confirm the SS Courier reference so far.

My next dilemma is Helge's grandfather Hans Christensen Myhre, father of Ole Hansen Myhre married to Martha 2 nee' Glimstad. We understand Hans Christensen was born mid 1700's in Kongsberg at The Myhre Farm, Kongsberg. So far I have not had any success locating the farm, road/address etc I believe it is still there. Hans and Martha had two children, Ole and Ingeborg whom we have some good information on.

Thank you everyone for your assistance. This Forum has been so helpful as I have had some difficulty navigating this site and Arkivverket - partly due to my lack of Norwegian skills!

Regards,

One thing that is a little curious is the Geni.com Tree gives the father of Sara Maria as Holger Henrichsen Stoltenberg in the profile and in the about section of the profile for Ole Hansen Myhre the wife is listed as Sara Maria Jacobsdatter.

Ungkar Ole Hansen Myhre, hadde etternavnet sitt fra Myhra gård i Kongsbergs-området. Han ble døpt 6.november 1890 i Kongsberg. 26 år gammel, den 6.juli 1816 giftet han seg med <pige" Sara Marie Jacobsdatter i Tangen kirke. Begge var 26 år
