Yes, the actual certificate carries that information. It is in error. In all the Minneapolis records I've studied, there were 3 Mary or Marie Holmsen. One married a man named Frank or Fred Winkler about 1902 and another married Nils Winklestad in 1914 and mine. |

Yes, that is a likely error also. Take a look at Guri Nelson who lives at the Holmson address in 1900: age 46 but born 1834, another error. Not too surprising.
Yes in the two census records found for Søren and Maria, 1900 and 1905, there are no children listed. It appears that their household was, more or less, in a constant state of chaos (due at least in part to her drinking and possibly his also). I don't know if either of the two children were born in US or not or if they were born before her marriage in Norway (except it appears not in Norderhov 1877-1889). I have requested copies of her probate files from Hennepin county but have not yet received. Hopefully, her surviving relatives are listed there and that one might be her child. Otherwise, I have no names to begin with, no birthdates, no birthplaces.
Since her half brother Ole Pederson (aka Ole Bakken) might have possessed enough for an estate settlement, I have also requested his papers from the Hennepin county probate office, also not yet received.
I wonder if she was in as much trouble in Norway as it appears she was in in US. It would be interesting to see if such records exist. |

A likely candidate for the wife of Peter Wibe of Towner, North Dakota is Lisa Marie Pedersdtter born in 1867 in Møre og Romsdal. Parents are Peder Olsen Ekrem and Kaen Anna Knudsdatter.
#45
1875
Probably left for Dakota Territory in 1892 and married in 1894/1895.
Link
Her brother Theodor and his wife joined the family in 1907 and can be found living with Wibe in 1910 US Census |

I hope you don't mind a small correction on your great grandfathers birthyear, see#22 he was born Jan 27 1870 and baptized March 20. Also, I don't know what you know or don't know, but your gggrandparents married July 11 1874, see #27 In 1865 they were at Kuntaas, Otilie is named Marie and Peder is said to be a bachelor. Otilie Maries half sister is recorded as Marie Eriksdatter born in 1857, the baptism record is #41 - she was baptized Maren Olava! Karens baptismal record which you probably have is #140 Peder is said to be 42 years at the 1865 census, he was born Nov 10 1822 and baptized Jan 5 1823, see #10 His parents were Ole Larsen Sundbye and Mari Jonsdatter. Mari Jonsdatter and her parents at Søndbye in 11 Ole Larsen Sønderengen and Mari Johnsdatter Wager were married April 1 1814, see top of right hand page here
I replied to the exception Eibache noted back in the day by "spinning" but I have been going through all the old files on the man, great grandfather Ole Petter Pedersen and have found the discrepancy in the records again.
There were two sets of microfilmed records covering his birth and baptism. 0124054 and 278205. The first film is the one we ordered a copy of his entry from the Photoduplication department at the library in Salt Lake City in 1983 (which was the procedure before the advent of print- it- yourself microfilm readers) and the description submitted with the order (required to be complete enough and accurate enough to obtain the right copy) called it film # 0124054 Kirkebok #13 page 122b #11 Ole Petter born 27 Jan 1869. This is the same birthdate that my grandmother always celebrated as her father's birthday.
Apparently, the National Archive has mounted images from the other filming which concludes that he was born on 27 Jan 1870 #22 This description from NA: SAKO, Norderhov kirkebøker, F/Fa/L0013: Parish register (official) no. 13, 1866-1874, p. 71 Quick link: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20051111040075
These little discrepancies have popped up in the research on this family before: the attest date recorded on one but not the other of the two confirmation records of Ole Petter's sister Otilie Marie and in another situation in the dodsfallprotokol for Ole Petter's father which doesn't appear in the current online version of those records from Norderhov but do in records retained by the Archives offline.
There doesn't appear to be any digital record for Norderhov covering 1863-1876. https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/kb/browse?page=1&clerical_parishes%5B0%5D=0613P&start_year=&end_year=&text=
So the two films are: Døpte Kl.b.13 1863-1876 (Norderhov) Family History Library International Film 124054 8113200
Døpte b.13 1866-1874 Family History Library International Film 278205
So it's a word to the wise, if there are two sets of any record, get both! |

At long last and a 2nd request & payment for same, I finally got Otillie Marie Holmsen's estate papers. Not a whole lot new there, but the final ending residue of her estate was about $142 and the sole survivor mentioned was her husband, Søren W Holmsen. Her husband's accident was more severe than the newspaper article made it sound, a broken leg.
In the opening papers in her guardianship record, Søren said that he had to have the leg amputated between the ankle and the knee and in the petition he remarked that he was unable to work and would be so unable to do so for some time. |

WooHoo! YES!
Here is an entry from the Poverty Matters records for one of the children of Otillie Marie Pedersdatter:
Fattigvesenet, OBA/A-20045/H/Hd/L0003: Manntallsprotokoll. Mnr. 1-500, 1887-1897, s. 144 Brukslenke for sidevisning: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/od19017000000144
A daughter named Karine b 1884!!
In the 1900 US census Otillie Marie is listed as a mother of 2 children one of whom is living. No children appear in any of the census schedules in which Oitillie or her husband Soren Holmsen are found (1895, 1900, 1905, 1910) so it appears unlikely that they had children within the marriage. No other legatee than her husband was named in her estate papers, so finding Karine without DNA results is a great coup!
Discovered because I was taking some time trying to understand some of the Ohrn family entries turning up for Johan's Genealogical researches!

Karine's and Oskar Adolf's known children are: Solveig Dorthea Margrethe #429 b 1 Nov 1912 Odvar Karsten Aleksander b 12 June 1914 d. 10 Mar 1989 Asbjorn Valdemar b. 4 Nov 1919 or 19 July 1919? d. 22 July 1955

Solveig married Aage Astrup about 1941. Here is the OCR read of the Norges Handel og Sjofartstidende mention of their banns dated 21 June 1941 page 5: "Bilmékaniker Aage Astrup, og bokbind.ske Solveig Dorthea Margrethe Olsen, beg, Oslo. "Auto mechanic Aage Astrup and bookbinder (?) Solveig Dorthea Margrethe Olsen both of Oslo." And the OCR marriage announcement in Aftenposten 5 July 1941 page 3 "Idag 1 Hedcmarksgaten 10 C IV: •Yk, Solveig Olsen og Aage Astrup. " Today Hedemarksgata 10 c ---------Solveig Olsen and Aage Astrup.
They had at least two children a daughter named Ellen b about 1945 and a son Svein, each of whom were married and had children.
Aage Astrup's newspaper death notice in Arbeiderbladet Tuesday 20 Oct 1987 page 29 col 2: https://www.nb.no/items/a6af2ad1eb6953f1f71f95482fc11b14?page=27&searchText=%22aage%20astrup%22
Solveig Astrup's newspaper death notice in Aftenposten Wednesday 12 Sept 2012 page 47 OCR read is a bit of a muddle not sure where hers begins but: "Knut Øvrige familie Begraves fra Vestre gravlund kapell tirsdag 18. september kl. 12.00. kl. 11.30. Solveig Astrup født 1. november 1912, Like kjært som blomster kl. 13.00 er en gave til Sjømannskirken,"
Other issues are her birth /baptism record indexes Margrethe as Hargrethe.
