Hi,
do you know when they was born or emigrated to the US? At least a hint would be helpful...

I have searched the online censuses for Norway [1865 and 1900], and there is noone called Dorsett in those censuses, no farm called by that name either....

Could it be that they've "americanized" it from Dyrseth or Børseth?

Your best bet is to start tracking down as much information in the US as you can before trying to trace back into Norway.
Get copies of her Birth certificate, Wedding license. Also any documents pertaining to your Grandparents, Obituraries, Death Certificates, Wedding license, naturalization records. Did they immigrate or was it their parents. Locating them in the early census will tell you where they were born and when they immigrated. Where did they live? There are lots of local community histories and sometimes you get lucky and find a write up. It's not always easy but sure is fun when the information starts coming together.
Good Luck Carla
