I would like information about the full-rigged sailing ship Mafalta or Mafalda (and her crew) which was rigged at Porsgrunn and set sail for Hawaii in 1919 or 1920. My father, a Finn named Johannes (Juho) Parssinen was an able-bodied seaman on board this ship. One of his shipmates was a man named Smith, whose family owned a pharmacy in Porsgrunn.

Mafalda:

Was an UK buildt iron sailer. I have a large model of the ship, built by an old sailor in the 60's, but I don't know his name.
Mafalda was dismantled early in 1924, probably she was out dated.

Sincerely,
Gaute
