I've always been quite interested in my familys surname, since it's only 12 people alive using this name in Norway. So when I found a woman named Synneve Tolstadloekken, who emigrated from Christiania in Norway May 6th 1866 on a bark named "Eucharis, and arrived in Quebec June 13th, I just had to try and find out more about her and hopefully about her descendants.
I hope there's anyone out there who can help me find some answers!

I haven't found any Tolstadloekken in the US. She probably would have gone by her patronymic or Tolstad.
I did find the farm Tolstadløkken in Vaage, Oppland, so that is probably where she came from. If you are interested in searching the database it is here It has birth and marriage records from 1739 - 1903.
