Looking for information on a Peter Olson (Olsen). He was born in Norway about 1836. I do not have any idea where he was born. He immigrated to the USA in 1869. According to the 1870 census he was a sailor.

setting these criterias in the Norwegian 1865-census
  • Born: 1835, 1836, 1837
  • Firstname: peder, peter, petter
  • Lastname: ols, olsen, olss, olssen
gives you 210 possible hits...

You could maybe try to search through the lists of Norwegian emigrants, but it will take some time since you don't know the port of emigration.
