I'm wondering if anyone can help me find more information on these ships?
The document I have had translated reads like this:
Shipping Registration Certificate no. 4592
Lars Tobiassen from Bergen Enlisting District, Stavanger Subdistrict, Rennesoy Judicial District Conscription District no. 32
Domicile?? in Rennesoy
Born on the 12th of August 1864 in Rennesoy Parish
...hair colour, ...eye colour,...height, with distinguishing characteristics..., has been registered in the Shipping Register and has been presented with this Certificate, which permits service to foreign countries until the 1st of January 1886.
Bergen Enlisting District on the 10th of May 1883

Date Name of Captain Name of Ship From To
17 Apr 1883 Pedersen Lovisa Stavanger Ostersoen -Baltic Sea

11 Aug 1883 Vallentins??? Balder Stavanger Sweden

I've not been able to find these ships on any ship list and have been told Lars traveled to America on a merchant marine ship.
Appreciate any help that anyone can give me.
Thanks,
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda, I don't know if this helps but the emigrants from Stavanger Click Here lists Lars Tobiassen AskŲ leaving in 1884 with Esther Larsdatter. These records are not actual passenger lists (the originals were destroyed in a fire) but come from different sources. The name above Lars, Tobias Olsen Askų, looks like it could be his father.
