I'm looking for passenger lists of the Nederland, photos of the ship, date it left Antwerp. Any articles in Newspapers listing its arrival, or any other information about it. It arrived in NYC on June 20, 1881.

Also the ship Virginia, landing in US early 1900's

The passenger list microfilm for this arrival (film #1027616), as well as the New York Times (film #192647), for that date can be rented at a local Family History Center, www.familysearch.org.

NEDERLAND - Two masted steamship, 2,880 tons, built 1873, US Flag, operated by Red Star Line. No specific reference to the voyage you posted; however, she landed 1,399 passengers in NY between October 1884 and March 1887, mostly from Germany and the Low Countries and returning US citizens.
Outbound she carried barreled petroleum to Belgium. She was quick, making round voyages NY-Antwerp-NY in less than 18 days in winter. You may find a picture at this link <www.shiphistory.co.uk>

Hi,
At the site listed below you should find many Nederland passenger lists. My German family may have also traveled on this ship.

immigrantships.net
select: "search"
then search for "Nederland"

Hope this helps. Best regards. Linda
