I would appreciate any help in this matter. We are searching for ship records that contain my GGGGGrandfather Andrew Valdahl. He came to Philadelphia from Norway in 1876 we think on the Tasso ship. Hi Susan, There is a place called Valdalen in what is now called Engerdal municipality, Hedmark county. People from that area normally emigrated through the Oslo/Kristiania or Trondheim harbour.Norwegian emigrants
I believe the area was under Røraas Parish, Sør-Trøndelag in 1865 Røros census, 1865.
His first name would probably be Andreas in Norway. Do you know when he was born?
