I am looking for ship records of Oscar II .
My mother ,Grandmother, 2 uncles came to America from Finland. The last leg of the journey was on the Oscar II. The last names are Smulter. Any information would be appreciated. Their arrival was in the spring of the year. 1921
Thank You---------Richard Mitts

Hi Richard,
is your mothers name Lydia?

I found some "Smutter" in the Ellis Island records for 1921, who could be your family. Their arrival is on March 21st on the ship Oscar II, sailing from Copenhagen on March 11th.
They are:
  • Berta Smutter, 46y
  • Johannes Smutter, 26y
  • Lydia Smutter, 14y
  • Elis Smutter, 9y
They are from the city of Malax, Finland, but read (and maybe speak) Swedish.
Final destination is Berta's brother-in-law Aug. Bergstrøm in Oregon city, Oregon.
Lydia's nearest relative back home in Malax, Finland is her aunt Berta Erikslund.
