I am searching for information on my Grandfather , his name was Ole Hermanson . He was born in Norway on Feb.6,1891 he married Martina Dalebratten also from Norway , my Grandmother was born on May 27,1891. She left Norway in April, 1912. They were married in Margo ,Saskatchewan, Canada on June 18,1914 in the Moe Lutheran Church. When she was in Norway she was employed by the Kjekstad family. She did milk samples for tuberculosis testing in Oslo. The Kjekstads son had moved to Canada and she went to keep house for Edward Kjekstad.

Ole left Norway from the port of Oslo/Kristiania in 1911 - the emigration protocol records his birthday as 6 Feb 1892 and his previous residence as Røken (Eidsvold) - that's the same area that Martine was from (as seen in her listing in the emigration protocols for that port)

This is likely to be Ole with his family in the 1900 Norwegian census -

I am also researching Ole Hermanson and Martina Dalebratten, they are my great-grandparents, on my father's side. Perhaps we can share info?
I have already learned more than I knew by just stopping by this site.
Vital event registration from the B.C. archives has his d.o.d. on
June 11 1953, at age 61, in Trail B.C.

I have located my g-grandmother in the NHDC census edition, and the reason she was so hard to find, is that Martine Dalebraten (as she is shown as on the passenger lists), was a foster daughter of the Dalebratens. Martina is listed in the Dalebraten household as having the last name Ludvigsen.

I am still trying to find more information about Herman Pedersen (Ole Hermanson's father), as well as now trying to find out more about my g-grandmother's family.

Happy Hunting To all...
Stacey
