My GGGrandfather "Charles Brown" arrived in Australia 1854 (and lived and died in NSW) on "Jacob Robinson" according to naturalization certificate issued 1869. I have all his family line to me, marriage certs, death certs. I think perhaps his name was not Charles Brown or had a Norwegian spelling. Have no idea where in Norway he came or through any other country on the way. Birth date 1821.
Can anyone help with this.

A norwegian with norwegian parents and grandparents would certainly not be named Charles Brown. It may be a translation from Carl/Karl Brun/Bruun. But born too late for 1801 cencus and departing too early for the 1865 cencus it will probably be impossible to find him on the information you have given - at least untill all national church books are on-line.

But there are several families called Brun/Bruun in Norway (and has been longer back than his birth) so there is a slight chance someone researching such a family has a missing Carl/Karl fitting your description. You should try a debate on Digitalarkivet

Other ways to find him with todays internet sources could be through siblings (or parents) staying behind in Norway. You don't have any such information?
