How do I find which ship in Hull my ancestors connected with?

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMITROND&variabel=0&postnr=42783&fulle=true&spraak=n

and the following ("neste") page (42781 to 42785; 42788; 42792 to 42795)

John Bernt Iveson, wife Hannah, daughters Lovise, (twins) Johanna and Lydia

His mother probably was on the same ship (husband Daniel, sons Andreas, Anton and Laurits Iverson). Apparently the daughter(s) stayed behind or passed away.

At the Digitalarkivet you can see the name of the transatlantic line: "State" - ie. State Line. Going to our database of for the S/S Hero (2) journey 1885-06-18 Trondheim - Christiansund - Aalesund - Hull, we find a confirmed connection with the S/S State of Alabama departing from Glasgow 1885-06-27, and arrivint at New York 1885-07-06, at 03:00 in the morning
