have papers in my possesion for my great grandfather who went to sea at the age of 11 years, it says it is from sannidal norway, where or what is sannidal, i think it was papers allowing him to leave the country, family story is that he stayed at sea until the age of 39 and never returned to his homeland, the date is 1854. |

Hi,
there is a very small place called Sannidal near the city of Kragerø in Telemark county.

There is a Norway List lookup volunteer for the Sannidal area - http://members.tdn.com/dagwood/lookups.html#Telemark
His name is Jorgen Olsen, born16.5.1843, his parents names are Ole Paulsen Kalstadkileu (thats what it looks like hard to read) mother Johanne Magretlie Pettersdatter, his name was not on the list, thankyou for answering so quickley |
