I have traced one of my lines back to Vestre Slidre, Oppland, Norway. The wife of Niels Toreson BERGE, Kari Knudsdatter BERGE, I have been able to trace back, but am unable to trace Niels Toreson BERGE back at all. Any help would be apprecieated. The only reference is that he was born probably sometime before 1790 and was married to Karie Knudsdatter BERGE on 22 Oct 1808 in Nord Aurdal, Oppland, Norway.

From what I can see the wife of Niels Toresen Berg (married oct. 22. 1808 in Nordre aurdal, Oppland) was Kari Knudsdatter Baasheim (Bosum in the 1801 census) also from Nordre Aurdal, Oppland. Her father was deceiced before 1801, and he might of course have come from Vestre Slidre. There is a 17 year old Niels Toresen in Nordre Aurdal in 1801. He doesn't live at Berge at the time, but I think he might be worth while checking up.
