My great grandfather was from Fridrikshald ,but moved to Onso, one of his children in the 1865 census was born in Engedalen,i believe Onso is now part of Fredrikstad

1. Why start a new subject on an old question?

2. Why not tell us your grandfather's name - no need for everyone to go through the 1865 cencus to find out it's Kaurin Pedersen.

3. Your grandfather is the only person in the entire cencus who's listed with this as a birthplace. There is one farm in Fet, Akershus, and one in Eidskog, Hedemark, by this name. However none of them, or the Engerdalen I suggested in the original topic, are logic places to look for the birth of someone living in Onsų/Fredrikshald (or Halden as the latter is called nowadays), especially as the rest of the family are born in Onsų/Fredrikshald. Could it be a very small, local place?

Wasn't asking you Askeroi. Sometimes I wonder if anyone reads the Posting Guidelines.
