Hi M. Solem !

I'm Trying to understand every little thing about a seamen roll I just receive from STATSARKIVET I KONGSBERG.
It' about Gunder Sem Olsen, ship master, from Notteroy.
I know you did a good analyse of your ancestor and would like some help to find out about this man.
Lots people gave me a good help on webdebatt, but we nead a deeper look to find out about details we didn't see.
Just go to digitalarkivet forum topic no. 2486

Tank you for your attention
Your accomplishment for genealogy world community is already uncalculable.

Hi stef
Ok, I see the scans. What exactly is it you need help with? How does the scans fit together? Is the problem that you can't understand what the document tells?

Firtst I would be sure of the last boat he 's been aboard and what kind and company of vessels.
I would like to know if there is a place where they wrote about their runaway out.

24465 and 24463 are the one that goes togethers, there is some copy I sent twice because I 'm just beginning with my new scanner .
number 24470 about Josefsen, which is the last trip he did and in wich boat?
They're supposed have been togethers when they jump the ship and I see date like 1895 and it doesn't fit.

I don't know, it looks to me as if Gunder Sem Olsen became a Mate. Many places had separate rolls for Mates and Captains, so probably we should expect that the continuation of his record can be found in another roll (Styrmansrulle). There are no comments about jumping ship on the records you posted. Note that it was not very common for the officers to jump ship!

On the other record you are pointing to, 24470 about Josefsen, there is no information about the career of that person. I believe this is the "Annotiasjonsrulle" (youngsters roll), and when he entered active service he would be continued in the "Hovedrulle" (sailor's roll). His number on that list is noted to the right.

Hi Borge!
I would like you to take a look at number 24686 and tell me if there is possibility that Henrick Robertsen
ran away twice. You will see on the top right side that he's been declared as ROMT 24 sept. 1890
Down the page to the right side ,there is note that notified then he ROMT 1/8/88.
Is there anything about his career ?

Tank you to read me!
sincerely Stef

You are having me confused now, where does this "Henrick Robertsen" fit in? I can't follow you, are you just chasing a lot of different persons or what is it you are trying to find out?

It seams like you are having a long tread and a lot of help on this matter at that other debate forum. I can't catch up with you on all that.

Henrick Robertsen,Gunder Olsen and Christian Josefsen did married 3 sister from the same place in Canada.
So I'm trying to figure out about those 3 men and want to know if they arrived all toghether or separetly.
But my ancestor is Robertsen and detail are much more important on that case.
I thought you were already in touch with the story, excuse me if
I confused you.
The story is already on your forum on the name Stef'

Ok, then I understand. However, the scan at DA topic number 24686 was to small for me to read. Maybe you can send me a better scan?
