Hello Alice

Johan Takku registered to depart out of the port of Trondheim on July 15 - 1891 on the Wilson Line ship S/S Domino for Hull in England. From Hull he Traveled by train to Liverpool to board a ship of the Allan Line for the transatlantic crossing. His final destination was Calumet Michigan.

Brita Kaisa Takku and her 5 children, Johan, Verner, Maria, Sofia and Laura followed in 1893, registered for departing from Trondheim on May 17. Final destination was Calumet, Michg. Brita and the kids traveled by train to Christiania (now Oslo) and from there via Germany to the US. They had tickets to cross the Atlantic on a Norddeutcher Lloyd (NDL) ship to New York or Baltimore. Maybe you will find them on the Ellis Island site.

According to the finish site www.genealogia.fi/hiski?se a Johan Takku was born in Kiiminka, Finland 26. may 1841. Parentt Johan Takku and wife Brita (40-45 years). Could this be your Johans parents? There are several Takkus registered in Kiiminka, so this could be a place to chech out.

Good luck!

Thanks go to askeroi for furnishing me
the finish web site. But for some
reason I cannot receive any help
from it. Initially, I bring up the
site but if I try to bring anything
else up I draw a blank screen. I use
web tv and maybe that is the reason?
