I have been researching my family history for a while now and last year I came across some records showing that my 5th great-grandfather was an immigrant from Norway. Through some more research I discovered that he "may" have traveled on the The Restoration. I am very interested in learning more about his family history yet I cannot get ahold of "The Sloopers, Their Ancestry and Prosterity." I was wondering if anyone had access to the book and could send me the info about Andreas Stangeland?

Did you read the slooper article at this site: The Sloopers - pioneers in Norwegian emigration
It mentions Andreas Stangeland as traveling with Cleng Person in 1824:

quote:
There are three people remaining on Anderson's list: Sven Johannessen who did not immigrate; Andrew Stangeland, who came with Cleng Peerson in 1824; and Knud Anderson Slogvik, who probably came in 1829.

I did get a chance to read more on the topic and it appears as though Andreas traveled w/ Cleng Person before the arrival of the other Sloopers. I am currently in the process of ordering The Sloopers, Their Ancestry and Posterity and hope to get some interesting information about Andreas.
