hi, Im trying to research my grandparents and great grandparents. They emirgrated to New York by ship that we know left Norway (christiansand) and docked in Liverpool first before heading to states. They were known under Tjelldal? unfortunately none of the records appear to show any under that name. there first names were kari and Sven. They had a name change later on in life to Fjelldal and went back and forth to the states for some time. My Grandfather was born in the states and they setled in albany. I am from Oxford england. Any advise on where to go please advise?

Do you know the approximate date that they left Christiansand? When were they born?

Someone? settled in "albany" -- Albany, New York, US?
I've been going through US census indexes and I can't locate those names and locations? But it is confusing - don't you have any dates that you can point to?
