If you would like to get information from a settlers perspective a good source of information would be from the book "johannas World" written by O.M andresen. For a Norwegian translation of it you will find it under the title "Uredd ferd mot ukjent land" it was written about my family and if you you need any more information on anything about new zealand i would only be to happy to help.
