| Veldre Historical Society in the Province of Ringsaker is planning an exhibit on 1905 for the 100th anniversary of the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden. The committee has a large collection of materials, but not many of them are local. It occurs to me that there may be some of you out there who have old letters or memorabilia sent by family in Norway to relatives in the US. It would be wonderful if we could find some letters from relatives in Veldre, describing the events in connection with June 7, and the selection of Prince Carl and Princess Maud of Denmark to ascend to the Norwegian throne as King Haakon. If anyone out there has any materials that could be shared with us, we would be pleased to hear from you! |
