Hey

I'm trying to find two birth records in Telemark, Norway.

The first is for Kittel Danielson Hetterud b. 3 Jun 1824 to Daniel Kittilsen Edingsaas and Liv Knutsdatter. Kittel is also known as Kittel Danielson Djuve.

The second person I am looking for is Anlaug Ostensdatter (Aasteensdatter) b. Jan 1822.

They were married in Boe and had a son named Even Kittilsen Hetterud b. 8 May 1849. There are also supposed records of them in Saurherad Lutheran Church though I don't know of what. Anlaugs birth record (1847) gives her birth year as 1818.

Many thanks,
Angela Femrite

You can order microfilm copies of Sauherad, Telemark records for years as early as 1649 at your nearest LDS Family History Center. The marriage in Bø would be in the microfilm copies of that parish's church records, the LDS library collection for Bø, Telemark are available for years as early as 1689.
When you search in the LDS library catalog make sure you spell those locations as Sauherad or Bo (Bø).

Kittil Danielsen most likely was born in Saude, Telemark
There is a Hetterud farm in Saude. Also an Edingsaas.

Daniel and Anloug were married in Bøe on 27 July 1847
Kittil Danielsen Hetterudkaasa 23 - father - Daniel Kittilsen
Anloug Aansteensd Stennelie 23 - father - Aansteen Johannesen

I found no children born in Bøe - They may have moved to Saude

Anloug Aastensdatter was born 21 Jan 1823 in Bøe, Telemark
to - Aasten Johansen & Guri Torsd Slemmelie

Anloug's parents were married 16 Jan 1816
Aasten Johansen Engene 20
Guri Thordsd. Watner 24
Other children born to them are:
1816 6 Nov Ragnil at Sternlie
1820 22 May Thor at Slemelie
1825 25 Aug Bergit at Slemelie

Aasten and family on 1801 census - at Engene farm

Wow, thank you very much. Where did you get the marriage of their parents and the name of the Slemlie farm? There was a reference to it, yet no one could tell what it was with the spelling. When I looked on LDS I couldn't find a marriage record for the parents, did I overlook it or was it some other source?

Thank you so much, it is difficult for me to research Telemark, I am so used to researching Sogn og Fjordane where they have a single website with all the information. *laughs* I guess I've gotten spoiled by it.

This data will be in the LDS parish films for Bøe. I have access to the transcipts of some of the parish records.

Check out the Telemark Lag http://www.telelaget.com/
If you have ancestors that emigrated from Telemark, enter their data in the Database for the Coming Home project.
