Can you provide the link to his emigration record? Knowing which port and line he took could give clues as to his final port.

The SS Saxonia, leaving from Liverpool on May 28, arriving Port of Boston on June 6, 1907:

Martin Knudsen, 34, teamster, Norwegian, living in U.S. (Boston) for 4 1/2 years. Going to friend in Boston, Harry Carstensen. 5' 9", blonde hair, blue eyes.

There is information and pictures on this site of the SS Saxonia, this most likely is the 1899 ship operated by the Cunard Line.
