Hi, you can send a private email by clicking on the user name of the woman who was seeking information.
Descendants can also be researched, found, and contacted.
For example, Donald A Lenth obituary lists survivors. He died August 2013. Donald (and siblings Robert and Ethel) have parents Mabel Fixen and Martin Lenth. Mabel Fixen was a daughter of Martha Oppedahl b 1863 and Lewis O Fixen b 1852 and lived in Odebolt, Sac county, Iowa. Martha Oppedahl was daughter of Jorgen (George) Tosteinsen Oppedahl. Survivors named in Donald's obit may be findable on the internet - for example, on Facebook. http://www.dysartreporter.com/page/category.displayall/nav/5010.html?startIndex=121
Lewis O Fixen and Martha Oppedahl also had a son George Fixen b 1895 with wife Elsie Fuller and children William born about 1919 and Martha born about 1920.
Not a complete accounting. I found the above on Google; I have not researched the records. One could continue on to find more family by searching Family Search website, Iowa Genweb website, Genforum website, and Rootsweb website.
Find a Grave is another useful website. Here are memorials for George O Fixen (died 1972) and wife Elsie. They moved to Colorado; found in Brush, Morgan, Colorado in 1940 US census.

Here are Find a Grave memorials for William Fixen and wife: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSln=Fixen&GSiman=1&GScid=2229741&
Hope you connect! |

Indeed - which is why I cautioned, "I have not researched the records." I shared the rationale by which I identified the posted folks as candidates to be relatives, in case you wanted to explore that possibility. You can see in no way did I simply choose someone who happened to coincidentally share a surname.
I've contacted a number of people I believed to be fellow descendants of an eighteenth century individual. All my candidates turned out to be correct. So, you can easily go right as well. Fun. |

Peder and Tena Sexe are my great great grandparents. Their daughter, Gunilde (Julia) married Hans Mellgren. Their daughter, Helena (Helen) married John Berry. Their daughter, Charlotte married my father. You (KMN24) must be close to my mother's age. |

I am a little confused about this. Is it so that Hans J. Mellgren married Gunilda (Julie) sister, Sarah after Gunildas death in 1900? |

Jan, it's all very interesting! I recognise all the names but it gets confusing when the names are constantly being changed. It's like a puzzle that keeps changing shape! Thank you for the ship information. |
