The first organized emigrant party to leave Norway was the sloopers on the Restaurasjonen (Restoration) in 1825. The emigrants counted 53 souls when they arrived at New York Not long ago we added a "Slooper society" list on the page for the Restoration. In just a short while 6 persons has signed on. Now the interesting question is, how many descendents could there theoretically be by now, 176 years after they arrived to America. Does anyone know of a formula to use when estimating such numbers, or does anyone want to make a qualified guess?
